MyCharge Freedom Series 2000 Powercase

2100 mAh Mophie Juice Pack Plus Battery Case for iPhone 5 Review

Mophie released its first iPhone 5 battery cases soon after owners started to complain about the fast battery drainage of Apple’s latest smartphone. The Juice Pack Helium and the Juice Pack Air were the first battery cases Mophie has presented for iPhone 5, each different in terms of price and mAh capacity. The Mophie Juice Pack Plus is the latest battery case for iPhone 5 to join the producer’s offer and while it packs a 2100 mAh battery, it features quite the staggering price too.

Mophie advertises its Juice Pack Plus battery case for iPhone 5 to be the extra battery that “gives you enough power to push through the toughest days, longest flights, or unexpected deadlines”. And if the $119.95 isn’t a draw-back, then the Juice Pack Plus’s 120% extra battery could be exactly what you need to “power through the weekend”. The iPhone 5 power accessory features a 2100 mAh rechargeable lithium polymer battery that adds up to 10 extra hours of talk time and web browsing on 3G, up to 12 hours of web browsing on WiFi and video playback.

In terms of design, Mophie’s Juice Pack Plus is a battery case for iPhone 5 that tries to keep it as tight as possible. The case is 2.63 in x 5.60 in x 0.70 in and weights 2.68 oz, so it is slightly taller and wider than Mophie’s Air battery case, but the curvy design on the back and the round edges hide its actual size, whereas the rubberized, shock-resistant band that surrounds the plastic case keeps your iPhone 5 protected from scratches.

The Juice Pack Plus iPhone 5 battery case is a lot similar with the company’s previous power products when it comes to its housing, where Mophie has included the Lightning connector, battery power switch and the 4 battery indicator lights. You will have to set up Wi-Fi syncing and connect the included micro-USB cable when charging the case.

We’ve presented you with iPhone 5 battery case reviews that varied in terms of price, extra features, mAh capability and design. Mophie’s battery products for iPhone 5 are always top of the list, but when it comes to the $119.95 Juice Pack Plus, there are other products for your iPhone 5’s battery that look, feel and perform better. You can invest only $69.95 for Phonesuit Flex Micro wireless battery charger for iPhone 5 with in-built Lightning connector and 2600 mAh capacity or $99 for the Duracell Powersnap Kit with wireless charging, 1950 mAh SnapBattery and 4200 mAh TravelMat.

Duracell PowerSnap Kit Review: the iPhone 5 Battery Case That Uses Wireless Charging

When Jay-Z himself invests in a product, you just know you’ve got to buy it. There aren’t many companies that make such a big statement about their reputation and such a high endorsement easily makes a product stand out from the crowd. That is the case of the Duracell PowerSnap Kit, an iPhone 5 battery case designed by Duracell Powermat, whose celebrity spokesman is none other than Jay-Z. But the novelty isn’t the fact that Jay-Z is an investor and a spokesperson. It is innovation that convinced us that the Duracell Powermat PowerSnap Kit deserves a review.

Following the company’s presentation of the prototype, at the Pepcom MobileFocus Global in Barcelona, Spain, many have argued Duracell Powermat’s battery case is a lot similar to the company’s models for previous iPhones. But even if it might be so, the wireless charging ability and the 1950 mAh battery does set apart the iPhone 5 battery case. It is both price and functionality that convinced us the $99 battery case and its inductive charging solution that places the Duracell Powerkit at the top of our list.

The Duracell Powermat’s PowerSnap Kit includes several individual components that you can get them all for $99, or the battery case which will set you back $59. The AccessCases, SnapBattery, TravelMat and a power adapter are all put to work to effortlessly get your iPhone 5 instant backup power whenever you need it. The company’s website says the PowerSnap Kit gives you basically “the power of two phones without feeling like you’re carrying them”. To be honest, when we first read that, we thought that’s definitely not the case, , but then we looked at product dimensions (the AccessCase is 5.36”H x 2.41”W x .42”D; the SnapBattery is 5.28”H x 2.36”W x .736”D) and weight (1.05oz for the case and 3.02oz for the SnapBattery) and it’s not all that much different from other cases.

As for the battery capacity, the Duracell SnapBattery packs a similar capacity as most similarly priced iPhone 5 battery cases, although there are cases that for less money will triple your smartphone’s standard battery life. But remember you’re basically getting two charges for the price one. The SnapBattery gives one full charge to your iPhone 5 and when even that is not enough you can just place the battery case on the TravelMat and wait for it to recharge wirelessly.

The TravelMat is a 5.26”H x 2.39”W x .73”D universal charger for all USB-enabled devices with a 4200 mAh Rechargeable lithium-ion prismatic battery. All you have to do is place your device on top of the mat to charge it wirelessly or connect it via USB. If you only want the TravelMat, it will set you back $129.99, a price that is bound to drop in the upcoming months, following an AT&T announcement to device suppliers to come up with integrated wireless charging solutions by the end of the year.

MyCharge Freedom Series 2000 PowerCase Review: Sleek Silver Design and 9 Hours of Extra Talk Time

There are many battery cases for iPhone 5 that don’t stand out when it comes to design, but MyCharge Freedom Series 2000 PowerCase isn’t one of them. In fact, that silver-themed battery panel is so sleek it makes up for the $99.99 price alone, although there’s a lot more to this iPhone 5 battery case that catches the eye.

The Freedom Series 2000 was first showcased at CES 2013 and it immediately became a must-have for the fashion-forward iPhone 5 owner. It is one of the three models available in the Freedom series, along with a 1500 mAh battery pack that sells for $80 and a Samsung Galaxy S3 power product with a 2500 mAh battery that’s priced at $100.

“Experience the highest level of innovation in portable charging cases – the perfect balance between protection, function and fashion” reads MyCharge’s product info on their website. And at least for once, we’re happy to see an iPhone 5 battery case with an in-built Apple Lightning Connector, 2000 mAh Lithium Polymer battery (that makes for 9 extra hours of talk) and elegant design.

The Freedom 2000 for iPhone 5 charges via an included USB to Micro-USB cable. The charging tether makes the connection between the Freedom PowerCase and your iPhone 5’s battery via one of the finest-looking designs we’ve seen so far.  When it’s fully charged all you have to do is press fit your iPhone 5 into the battery case and then press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to begin charging. There’s also a battery level check button. You’ll see the LED color change according to the energy level. Solid green means the device is fully charged, a flashing green indicates the power level is 71-99%, a flashing yellow stands for 41-70%, whereas a flashing red is 0-40%.

Later this month, MyCharge is expected to make available all of its Freedom Series power products and release the interchangeable outer shells too. For now, the Freedom Series 2000 mAh iPhone 5 battery case is available in two colors, black and silver, but we’re waiting impatiently for the multitude of colorful and decorated shells MyCharge has presented at CES 2013.

The Freedom 2000 will set you back $99.99, but just look at that silver battery case and tell me you don’t love it to death?!

The MyCharge Freedom Series Could Be the Best iPhone 5 Battery Cases for You

Accessory producers had so many new iPhone 5 battery cases released at CES 2013 that months later we’re still not done with their reviews. For the next few reviews we’ll be looking at the MyCharge Freedom Series for iPhone 5 as well as some of the best external charges for iPhone 5 MyCharge has produced, both with in-built Apple Lightning connector and USB ports.

MyCharge Freedom Series are designed to double your iPhone 5’s battery life, although the price – power ratio might feel a bit too much. One battery case is 1500 mAh and sells for $79.99, whereas the other one is 2000 mAh and will set you back $99.99. There’s also a third battery case but it is designed particularly for Samsung Galaxy S III and packs a 2500 mAh battery which sells for $99.99.

The 2000 Freedom Series battery case for iPhone 5 will add up to 9 hours of talk time and since it has a built-in Apple Lightning connector you can rest assured you won’t have to bother yourself with additional cables. But the iPhone 5 MyCharge Freedom Series is well worth the price if design and increased protection are what you’re interested in. There’s a bunch of decorative cases that catch the eye and although the only available color theme for now is jet black, the producer has quite the variety planned for release.

The Freedom Series cases for iPhone 5 are robust, made of twice-injected rubber and are durable enough to keep your iPhone 5 protected even when dropped from 4 to 5 feet. The Freedom 2000 iPhone 5 case is the only one available in the series, selling for $99.99. There are two colors available, silver and black, but the silver one is definitely our favorite one.

If the Freedom Series isn’t right your alley, just check out the rest of Freedom’s power products for iPhone 5. We’ve got the reviews for AMP 2000, AMP 3000XT, AMP 4000, AMP 6000, AMP 6000XT, HUB 3000, HUB 6000, HUB 9000, JOLT 2000D, PEAK 6000 and SUMMIT 3000.

uNu Extended Battery Case for iPhone 5

This is by far the best extended battery case for your iPhone 5, in terms of design, price and battery capability. At 2500 mAh, this extended battery is one of the most powerful, and the Ecopak Detachable Snap-On case makes this battery case all the most appealing. For $80 you get an eco-friendly, lithium polymer battery that not only “can be swapped between any Ecopak product” but ca also double your iPhone 5’s battery life.

This extended battery case will give you another 10 hours of talk time and 11 for web browsing. Tylt Energi Power Case for iPhone 5

Tylt is $100 battery case for iPhone 5 that caught our eye particularly for the sleek design and improved protection. Don’t get us wrong, in terms of mAh capability it’s just as good as the rest here in the list. It packs an in-built 2500 mAh rechargeable lithium ion battery that gives you at least 9 hours of talk time. The best part is that as slim as it is (adds only ¼ inch to the iPhone’s thickness), it is made from UV coated polycarbonate that does offer satisfactory protection.

Gridcase Reactor for iPhone 5 Review Or Enjoying Your Very Own Power Generator for iPhone 5

Battery cases for iPhone 5 are all the rage at the moment, but even so, for the most part, users’ quench for extra battery life isn’t satisfied. Gridcase is planning to give you the perks of owning your very own power generator for iPhone 5. The battery case that will make it possible is called Reactor for iPhone 5, and although it’s in the funding stage, this is one project we’d really love to see how it works in everyday life.

It was almost a month ago that Gridcase made the announcement about its Reactor for iPhone 5. News outlets immediately made it viral, and for a really good cause. Gridcase is using Crowd Supply to showcase their project and raise money. “Crowd Supply lets us show a 3-D rendering of what we expect our final product will look like” said Jim Clark, Reactor inventor. “Backers want to understand the risks of a project but also see our vision for what the final product will be when it reaches their hands. Crowd Supply gives us the freedom to tell our story, our own way” he added.

“Reactor is exactly the kind of timely innovation that we’re proud to support on Crowd Supply” reads a statement by Lou Doctor, co-founder and CEO of Crowd Supply. “Our goal is to partner with project creators to achieve long-term success and pave the way for the next generation of innovative companies”. With that being said, let’s take a good look at what Gridcase Reactor aims to do for your iPhone 5 experience. Then, you can figure out by yourself if you want to make a pledge and have your product delivered as soon as it is assembled.

Reactor is a two-piece case for iPhone 5 that packs a 400mAh Boost Battery and a 500mAh Manual Generator. Inventor Jim Clark explains the case was imagined to be as thin as possible, so the Reactor generator case for iPhone 5 should be 8.5 mm thick and 4.5 oz in weight. The first 10,000 Reactor cases will be sold for $99 and shipping should begin later this year, as of October. As for the retail price, the Reactor case for iPhone 5 is expected to retail for $149.

But before arguing the Reactor for iPhone 5 is considerably more expensive than your average battery case, remember that this case gives you power whenever you ran out. “A small built-in battery provides enough of a boost to revive a dead phone, while manually cranking the generator can extend the battery life of the iPhone indefinitely”. We’d argue this is definitely the case to be putting in your emergency backpack for next year’s summer storms that leave you stranded in the dark for days and nights at a turn.

The i-Blason PowerSlider External Battery Glider for iPhone 5 Review: Battery Power and Price

Slide-on battery cases are all the rage now when it comes to sleek power accessories for iPhone 5. Producers tried their best to deliver the most awesome iPhone 5 battery cases for price tags and with features that should appeal the buyer interested in expanding their device’s battery life. The i-Blason PowerSlider is a rechargeable external battery glider that aims to deliver both full protection and double battery life for your iPhone 5.

It might not be an iBattz or PowerSkin product, but the iBlason PowerSlider case has features that are very close or even better than what other similar priced battery cases offer. It won’t exactly pop for being extra-fashionable or extra-powerful, but the 2200 mAh battery and nice-looking design are good enough selling points for a price than starts at $69.95 on Amazon or $65.95 on ExcomBattery.com.

The i-Blason PowerSlider Lightning iPhone 5 Rechargeable External Battery Glider is a full protection case with an external battery that simply glides on when needed. It was designed to work with Apple’s new 8 pin Lightning charging connectors and comes with both a male and female such connector. That allows you to use an Apple lightning cable to charge both your smartphone and its battery case. The battery glider incorporates a 2200 mAh battery which the company says it is going to provide 1.2 times more than iPhone 5’s 1440 mAh battery.

There are 4 LED lights, which consumer reviews read were quite useful, each of the LED lights representing 25 percent of power left in your iPhone 5. Promoted as being innovative, the two piece slider design allows for easy installation and provides your device with full body protection. Although the case features cutouts for all the essential features and ports of your iPhone 5 such as cameras, microphones, sensors, headphone jack and controls, some users reported having problems with the quality of back panel camera photos because of the case’s thickness.

The overall case is 0.25 inches thick and weighs 2.5oz (70 grams), so it only doubles your iPhone 5’s battery life, and not the weight. The iPhone 5 battery case is available in several color themes, such as back, blue, pink, white, yellow and purple. The back is rubberized and comes with a black matte finish whereas the color is added on its sides. And there's also a small plastic foot on the back that allows you to use the device in landscape mode.

The i-Blason PowerSlate Plus Review: 2800 mAh Battery Case to Power-Boost Your iPhone 5

Battery extenders, battery cases and external batteries for iPhone 5 are the kind of search terms many of you might have stumbled upon over the past few months, as you grew more and more unsatisfied with the device’s poor battery life. The standard 1440 mAh battery on iPhone 5 is far from enough for many of today’s owners interested in getting a lot more for their buck. The pricy investment needs increased protection and battery life, and a battery case is the right way to go to rip the benefits of your iPhone 5.

The current market offer for iPhone 5 battery cases is quite varied, but with most products priced at a similar level, it has become considerably harder to find the best such accessory. Today we are reviewing the i-Blason PowerState Plus, one of the iPhone 5 battery cases that has been receiving a lot of attention lately via Amazon. It must be the 2800 mAh battery that appeals so much to the iPhone 5 user.

The 2800 mAh battery the i-Blason PowerSlate Plus packs is one of the most powerful capabilities battery cases today offer for iPhone 5. It is capable of charging your iPhone 5 for 1.5 cycles which gives you even more usage time than the popular uNu Ecopak (2500 mAh that lasts for 42 hours of music time, 11 hours of Internet browsing and 10 hours of talk time). The battery extender was conceived to work with iPhone 5’s standard 8-pin Power Cable so you can charge both your smartphone and the battery case using the same Lightning cable.

In terms of design, much like its other brother, the i-Blason PowerSlider, the PowerSlate Plus was conceived to avoid adding bulk to iPhone 5 as much as possible. While it succeeds to some extent to keep things slim, the whole case design transforms your iPhone 5 into something less recognizable. There are two color themes available, Black and White, both with a glossy finish, and with a 4 digit LED power level indicator for each 25 percent of battery life you lose. As for protection, the one piece slide-in secures the device thanks to the side wings which avert bump damage.

i-Blason PowerSlate Plus is the most powerful battery extender for iPhone 5 in the i-Blason offer today. There are two other such products available in the company’s offer, all selling for $69.95 on the company website. You can find the review for the i-Blason PowerSlider on our website and we will soon publish the PowerGlider Lightning review too.

Tylt Energi Power Case, the Slim iPhone 5 Battery Case that Doubles Battery Life

The best battery cases for iPhone 5 must be powerful, fashionable, slim and affordable. Most battery cases for iPhone 5 today are priced around $80 but despite the similar price tag, their tech specs and design appeal are quite varied. So, whenever there’s something that sets apart such a product, buyers will be enticed, but how about a battery case that’s priced at $99.99? The Tylt Energy Power Case for iPhone 5 does stand out from the crowd, but despite the sliding and slim design, this is one iPhone 5 battery case that is far from deserving the hefty price tag.

The ENERGi Case is a protective and battery case that features an in-built rechargeable 2500 mAh Lithium Ion Battery. It was designed to double your iPhone 5’s standard battery life, to as much as 9 hours of talk time, while allowing you full access to charging, syncing, data transfer and listening to music without becoming too much of a hassle. The charge and synch cable are included within the price and to connect the battery all you have to do is slide the stylish iPhone 5 protective case within the charging case. The case was designed for use with the Apple 30Pin to Lightning adapter.

The design of this iPhone 5 battery case is one of the slimmest and sleekest available today. It keeps things tight with a compact design that adds just ¼ inch to the thickness of your iPhone 5 and another ½ inch to its length. The case is available in two theme colors: one black and one colored, and it weighs, on the overall, 3.35 oz (that’s 95 grams). Basically, it will slide into your pocket without ripping out the stitches.

The case is made of UV coated polycarbonate to prevent any damage by scratches to the iDevice, whereas the inside is lined with soft and squishy material that keeps the phone in place when you drop it or bump it against things. The case is washable, but before applying warm water and soap do remove the iPhone from it.

Some reviews for the iPhone 5 battery Tylt Energi Power case read that this was one of the most appealing iPhone accessories presented at CES earlier this year. If it weren’t for the hefty price tag, it would have definitely stood at the top of our best iPhone 5 battery cases for 2013. But for those of you who can afford the $100 price tag, here’s what Tylt Energi Power Case can offer your iPhone 5.

uNu DX Protective Battery Case for iPhone 5: Review and Tech Specs

There are a lot of iPhone 5 battery cases priced at $80 and choosing the most appropriate one might prove to be a bit difficult, since many of them have similar, if not the same tech specs. Today we are reviewing a product that has made it in many reviewers’ Best iPhone 5 Battery Cases tops for 2013. So is the uNu DX Protective Battery Case one of the most appealing and finest looking power accessories for iPhone 5?

“The ergonomic yet sleek style with a  minimal of 15mm thickness allows the DX case to comfortably protect while still emanating the iPhone's original design” the uNu product description promises.

uNu DX Protective Battery Case is the successor of the company’s successful iPhone 4S products, combining protection and power to give users the premium experience for $80. Design is sleek, adding only 15mm in thickness to your smartphone, but delivering an extra 100 percent battery power. The iPhone 5 DX Protective and Battery Case was redesigned to provide a faster charging speed, uNu upgrading the charging circuit at 1A/5W speed.

On the overall, the uNu DX iPhone 5 case is quite skinny, and packs a powerful 2300 mAh battery in-built in the back panel. It adds another ten hours of talk time and doesn’t require you to use a new charging cable or docking accessories. The DX battery case allows for charging and synchronization via a micro-USB port to Lightning connection within the actual case. On the outside there’s no cable or connector to worry about.

“Like every product designed by uNu, each product is extensively and thoroughly designed and tested to ensure 100% satisfaction” reads the company’s website. The product hasn’t received Apple’s MFI certification yet, but uNu is sure the DX case “will pass the Apple’s Made for iPhone” testing and certification process and ensure it to be the most reliable battery cases for your iPhone 5”.

The uNu iPhone 5 battery case also features a bonus Crystal Screen protector and a protective lip that goes above the screen. The uNu DX Protective and Battery case for iPhone 5 will set you back $80 and is available in two theme colors: Matte Black and Glossy White. There’s also a one year warranty and apart from the screen protector, protective lip and battery case, the box also contains a headphone w/Mic Extension Cord and an operation manual.

PowerSkin Pop’n iPhone 5 Battery Case Review

Buying battery cases isn’t a first for the iPhone user, but with iPhone 5 there’s a lot that has changed when it comes to identifying the one product that gives more bang for the buck. Apple’s new Lightning connector has prompted a massive release of new battery cases for iPhone 5 and each producer tried its best to deliver an appealing product.  Not many succeeded, whereas some got really close. Today we are reviewing the PowerSkin Pop’n iPhone 5 battery case.

PowerSkin Pop’n brings something new to the table, although it’s not exactly the kind of sleek design iPhone 5 owners are interested in. The Pop’n is in fact an attachable external battery that you have to stick onto the case. It sticks to the iPhone 5’s back panel thanks to 24 suction cups that line its back and these are strong enough to use it without worries it would just fall off.

The Pop’n external battery uses a curled micro-USB to Lightning connector adapter made from rubber. In all fairness it is one of the most elegant such connections we’ve seen lately, but while it is comfortable to hold and use, on the overall the Pop’n external battery case for iPhone 5 looks only half finished. The battery is shorter than iPhone 5 to allow you hassle-free access to the 8MP iSight camera but that does dip into the final aspect.

The Pop’n battery has a capacity of 2000 mAh which its producer’s website reads it will increase the device’s standard battery life by 70 percent. iLounge took this battery for a spin too and found that it actually delivers more than the description text reads. The Pop’n delivered “an 87% charge to a fully drained iPhone 5; this is better than the 70$ claim on PowerSkin’s web site, and right in line with other battery packs”.

The external battery is 5(L) x 2.2(W) x 0.41(H) inches, adds 10 mm thickness to the iPhone’s back panel and weighs 86 grams. The battery is available in two colors, black and white, but rumor has it PowerSkin is working on extending the range of color themes. There are two version available, each priced accordingly. The iPhone 5 Lightning connector Pop’n external battery will set you back $80, whereas the micro USB version, compatible with a plethora of Android smartphones, is priced at $70.

And now for the final conclusion. PowerSkin’s Pop’n external battery for iPhone 5 is an appealing power product, but for $80 you’re getting only the battery, no protective case at all. If that’s not a problem, then Pop’n might just be the right external battery for your iPhone 5.

uNu Extended Battery Case for iPhone 5 Review

iPhone 5 has become more than just a fashion statement. For most owners, iPhone 5 is part of their everyday life, reason why many of them are quite keen on protecting the device from scratches and damaging impact. According to a survey by ABI, 75 percent of iPhone buyers also purchase a protective case. Although not yet just as significant, the number of iPhone buyers interested in battery cases for iPhone 5 is ever growing.

Apple’s 30-pin Lightning connector as well as the faster processor and the 4G capability have boosted the interest for iPhone 5 battery cases, as more and more owners are interested in ripping full benefits of a quite expensive device. iPhone accessory makers have attempted to offer the end user products that deliver the best of two worlds: protection and extra power.
uNu Extended Battery Case for iPhone 5

The uNu Extended Battery and Ecopak Detachable Snap-On Case for iPhone 5 is amongst the accessories that caught our eye most at CES 2013. In terms of aesthetics, the uNu Snap-On case and Extended Battery for iPhone 5 is probably one of the finest there is. Both the protective case and the extended battery are rather easy on the eye, as opposed to some boxy-looking battery cases.

The case is 15mm and on its back features three holes needed to attach the battery pack. The only downsize to this iPhone 5 accessory is being made of plastic. There’s not much you can do with plastic to make something look better than metal, so if you’re interested in getting that nice sleek look, consider the metal-encased iBattz iPhone 5 case.

The uNu Extended Battery Case packs a 2500 mAh battery that can double the battery life of your iPhone 5. It is manufactured with a USB port built into the battery case which makes it possible to share the power between any USB powered device. Also it’s eco-friendly, using a lithium polymer battery that “can be swapped between any Ecopak product”.

uNu’s Ecopak Detachable Snap-On Case + Extended Battery doubles the battery life of your iPhone 5 and provides moderate protection as well as satisfactory design for $80. The battery case will start shipping as of next month and it is currently available for preorder. The best part is being able to detach and attach the extended battery only when it’s needed, so the overall case remains light and slim.

Lego-Inspired Bricked iPhone Cases from Smallworks Are All the Rage

CES 2013 was all about iPhone 5 accessories, both in terms of protection and design. Accessory makers have tried their best to combine durability and protection with a sleek and functional design. Each case maker had a different vision of how that should look like, products varying from fashion forward to highly functional and playful.

Since CES 2013 was lush with iPhone 5 accessories, it’s worthwhile taking a few minutes to read the reviews of some of the most popular cases released during the event. There’s quite a significant bunch that will sweep you off your feet, so you’d better know which will give you the most bang for your buck.

Smallworks introduced during the event the iPhone 5 BrickCase inspired by Lego. They were quite the rage at CES 2013, offering the hip iPhone user an accessory that’s fancy enough, durable and playful. Not to mention how great it works as a gift for the Lego fan. You can “build, modify, play, then take your own LEGO creations” with you.

Smallworks says their iPhone 5 BrickCase will “support any Lego brick experiment you care to dream up” and pictures have already proved the limits of this building platform are only those of your imagination. Even the colors of their iPhone 5 case have been selected to match that of the Lego building blocks.

Leaving the fun part aside, Smallworks Bricked iPhone 5 case does keep your device protected while offering full access to all buttons and features (volume and mute buttons, flash, lightning connector and camera lens). The BrickCase is made from tough, high impact ABS that can withstand shocks when it slips from your hand or pockets down to the floor. So while you’re having the time of your life reinventing iPhone with Lego, your device is protected against scratches, chips and dirt. Plus it keeps the device’s screen off the table while you’re playing with your Lego.

The Smallworks Bricked iPhone 5 case costs $24.99. You should definitely give the glow in the dark version a chance if you’re a case collector.

There are so many iPhone 5 cases going around that most profile sites haven’t had the time to review them properly. This might be the first Smallworks Bricked iPhone 5 case review to be published so do give us your feedback.

Boostcase iPhone 5 Snap Case Hybrid Presented at CES 2013

Being so pricey, iPhone 5, iPad and iPod Touch now need power and protection accessories that can keep up with the owner’s pace. “We’ve gone from being a luxury to being a necessity. Your life is held within that device, and if you damage that, the downtime is crippling” explained Otterbox’s Philip Hicks about the huge appeal iDevice owners have developed for accessories.

More like ever before, this year’s CES was all about the iPhone 5 and iPad accessories. From battery cases to fashionable jackets, apps, stands and all sorts of “gadgets”, CES 2013 was without a doubt the catwalk for some of the most impressive cases yet. Boostcase’s iPhone 5 cases presented at CES 2013 were all the rage with sleek design, an artsy touch and improved protection.
Boostcase iPhone 5 Snap Case Hybrid

Boostcase is one of the most popular iPhone accessory maker but it was this year’s CES that convinced everybody they’ve got skill and vision to deliver iPhone 5 cases that will pertain even to the hippest owner there is. Both Mashable and CNET were so impressed with Boostcase’s new iPhone 5 cases that immediately ruled them as top of the iPhone 5 accessory market offer at CES 2013.  Mashable said Boostcase’s iPhone 5 Metallic Studded Jacket is one of the most “Fashion Forward Tech Accessories”, whereas CNET ruled in favor of the Arthur iPhone 5 cases, which made it in the “Top New iPhone 5 Cases” list.

The Boostcase iPhone 5 case has been available for quite some time now but CES introduced new jackets, accessories and functionality that swept everybody off their feet. Boostcase began selling the Snap Case for iPhone 5 as of last November but continues as a top success. With Boostcase it isn’t the degree of protection that its iPhone cases can provide, but the sleek design that all its products enjoy.

Snap Case for iPhone 5
isn’t just pretty looking, it is also extremely functional. For the iPhone 5 case, Boostcase changed the big hole at the back with several tiny dots lining the backside of the case. These are not just for the looks. These dots help you connect all kind of “accessories” to your iPhone 5. For instance you can attach a battery pack, a wallet, a kickstand and even a hand strap.

The Boostcase iPhone 5 Snap Case Hybrid is one of the top choices when it comes to power accessories for Apple’s smartphone. It’s not as sleek looking as the simple Snap Case, but it does work quite well. It delivers a 2,000 mAh battery that recharges your iPhone 5 in an hour an half and keeps you mobile twice as much.

ZeroChroma Theater-Stand 360 VarioClear Case Review for iPhone 5

ZeroChroma Theater-Stand 360 VarioClear Case Review
This year’s CES brought a lush of accessories for iPhone 5, each more eye-catching and fashion forward than the other. Even if Smartphone Experts’ Joel Martin says soon enough iPhone 5 users will eventually end up with dozens of cases in their collection, cases are not exactly affordable purchases. Some are priced around $25 – $30, but most are priced way over $50, particularly if you’re looking for a power boost too.

As the market of iPhone 5 accessories is now flooded with dozens of products, for the buyer on a budget a case must offer sturdy protection, increased functionality and a design that matches Apple’s. The appeal is significant since a pricey investment such as iPhone 5 needs to be kept out of harm’s way. And then there’s the huge amount of data that most users keep in their iPhones. Any damage might potentially cause you to lose a huge part of your life.

While most iPhone 5 cases add color and texture to the device, ZeroChroma’s VarioClear 5 keeps your device protected while showcasing its sleek design. “All iPhone users face the dilemma of wanting to see the design aesthetic of the phone, but needing to protect it at the same time” the company explains. “The Vario Clear for iPhone 5 allows users to do just that, with the added bonus of our signature integrated Theater-Stand 360” adds ZeoChroma CEO Brian Le Gette.

In terms of functionality, the VarioClear case for iPhone 5 provides a theater-stand 360 that gives the user 11-angle selections, orientations such as portrait and landscape, making it a lot more comfortable to watch movies, play games, browse the internet and use FaceTime. The stand is anti-slip proofed thanks to a rubberized layer, whereas the outer bumper of the case gives protection against moderate shocks. On the inside, the case is lined with a soft material that protects it from scratches.

The VarioClear iPhone 5 case makes it easy to access the 30-pin dock connector, the speaker and microphone, as well as the ring/silent switch, the volume buttons and the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The best thing about this case is the feel. Pressing the buttons with the iPhone still in the cover feels just like the right thing.

The ZeroChroma iPhone case also has a wrist-strap built into it. Varioclear for iPhone 5 costs $44.99.

Full Review of the iBattz Mojo Refuel Removable Battery Case for iPhone 5

There’s a bunch of questions a full review for an iPhone 5 battery case should answer. Does it actually offer protection? What about the price, is it better than others’ products? How about the case’s design? Does it match the sleek iPhone and is it fully functional? And by how much will it improve iPhone 5’s battery life? We’ve tried to answer all these questions in the full review of the iBattz Mojo Refuel Removable Battery Case for iPhone 5.

The iBattz Mojo Refuel Removable battery case for iPhone 5 is just the last battery case for iPhone 5 to be released. But what makes this particular battery case for iPhone 5 stand out from the crowd? There are literally dozens of products available in the market today, all promising to prolong battery life and provide good protection and impressive design. For the buyer interested in taking the best purchasing decision for their precious device, browsing the offer of battery cases for iPhone 5 might feel a bit confusing.
iBattz Mojo Refuel Removable Battery Case for iPhone 5

In terms of extra power, iBattz Mojo’s Refuel Removable battery case for iPhone 5 promises 250 percent more that what you getting from the device’s standard battery. The company is advertising its product as being “the world’s first removable power solution for iPhone 5” which means you’re getting “boundless power” and “full protection against impact and shock” as well as “a slim, snug fit profile”. The iBattz iPhone 5 battery case uses standard 2200 mAh I9300 battery modules with long time recharging span, whereas lithium ion are commonly limited to 300-500 cycles.

iBattz says its battery case for iPhone 5 is eco-friendly, since the battery replacement feature makes it possible to charge only the battery and not the entire battery case. This means your device’s battery life is limited only by the number of battery modules you can carry with you. If you’re in for a long time away from any charging modalities, that’s a perk to definitely take into account.

In terms of design, the iBattz battery case for iPhone 5 is 0.62 inch in height, 5.51 inches in lenght, 2.48 inches in width and weighs 0.17 pounds. There are two theme colors available silver and red.

The iBattz Mojo Refuel Removable battery case for iPhone 5 sells for $90 on Amazon, that’s $10 less than Mophie’s. The package also contains a micro-USB charge and sync cable, two battery modules, two bumpers and a quick user guide.

Boostcase Hybrid for iPhone 5 Review

iPhone 5 is not an affordable purchase. It becomes a precious investment and needs to be kept that way until Apple’s releases the next best thing and owners start reselling their smartphones. But besides protecting the device against scratches or worse, there’s an issue many iPhone 5 users did not expect to experience with such a costly purchase: the rapid drain of battery. That’s where iPhone 5 battery cases become a viable solution, offering both protection and extra power.
Boostcase Hybrid for iPhone 5 review, pictures, preview

The recent CES 2013 event was a great time for iPhone 5 battery case producers to show off their latest products. Boostcase was all the rage with its Hybrid Snap Case for iPhone 5. It has actually topped the list of the most fashionable and techy accessories presented during the event for iPhone 5 users. Mashable decided the coolest case there was Boostcase’s Metallic Studded Jacket and it’s hard to argue with that although the company has many, many other jackets for the snap case that are just as appealing.

BoostCase Hybrid is a great accessory for iPhone. It’s most likely the best in terms of design and functionality. It combines a case and a battery with a very appealing design and convincing quality. BoostCase Snap Case is particularly designed to fit Apple’s iPhone 5 and adds to the table a new fix: instead of the big hole at the back, the new case features several tiny dots all along its backside. These tiny dots are not just for aesthetic reasons. These allow the user to add to the case all kinds of accessories, including a battery pack and a wallet, as well as a kickstand and a hand strap.

Like everything BoostCase makes, design is key, although the BackPack Battery product isn’t exactly all that good-looking to begin with. The battery applies on the back of the BoostCase Hybrid SnapCase for iPhone 5 and it can prolong its battery life to twice as much. It packs a 2,000mAh battery that can recharge your iPhone 5 in about an hour an half and there’s still something left for other devices. It charges your iPhone 5 using Apple’s Lightning-to-USB cable or a short micro USB cable and Apple’s micro USB to Lightning adapter.

The design however remains more appealing that most of the similar products available today. The BoostCase BackPack Battery compatible with the iPhone 5 Snap Case is relatively small, easy to fit in a pocket and quite thin compared to other products. A Snap Case sells for about $35 with handstrap and stand included, a Metallic Gunmental studded jacket will set you back almost $40, whereas a Hybrid BoostCase will cost about $80. Add another $49.95 for the backpack battery.

Case-Mate Crafted Collection Prints series Review for iPhone

Case-Mate Crafted Collection Prints series
The hippest case for your iPhone is definitely one of the models in Case-Mate’s Crafted Collection, the Prints series. These are the kind of cases that pertain most to users with a taste for art and designer items. But are they fully functional for iPhone 5 too?

Case-Mate has selected a group of designers “whose unique inspirations from fashion, culture and art create one of a kind masterpieces that you can carry in the palm of your hand”. Designers and artists such as Jessica Swift, Amy Sia, Todd Carpenter, Lou Kregel and Sebastian Murra have delivered for Case-Mate several battery cases each with intricate and whimsical patterns and drawings.

Each Designer Prints Collection “features thoughtfully selected designs that reflect your sense of style and let you showcase your individuality”. Truth be told, there are 9 collections in the Prints series that are quite amazing to begin with. Take for instance the Jessica Swift iPhone 5 case collection for Case-Mate: it features beautiful “vivid printed cases that add a dynamic and fashion-forward feel to your device” and hand-drawn designs, a daring use of color, quirky and fun patterns.

iPhone 5 battery cases in the Designer Prints Collection feature an enhanced bumper and metal buttons to give the user “a luxurious touch” as well as “two-piece design [that] adds a higher level of protection”. Each of the iPhone 5 case in the Case-Mate’s Prints series costs $50.00 and according to reviews and consumer feedback they provide a decent level of protection.

The patterns are whimsical, but it is the Toughcase for iPhone 5’s protection that steals the spotlight. It is made from two pieces, enforced with inner rubber around the phone, and while it does provide premium protection be careful with it though. It was designed to withstand moderate to high impacts, but if you reckon you will subject your device to higher risk, you’d better opt for a Tough Xtreme case for iPhone 5. It costs just the same amount and is available in several colors and vibrant textures.

For the moment at least Case-Mate does seem to live by its selling pitch. “The products we’ve designed for the iPhone 5 are without a doubt the most fashionable and protective cases we have ever released” said Case-Mate’s CEO and Founder Shashi Reddy in the statement accompanying the release of the company’s new fashion case line for iPhone 5.
