iPhone 5 Battery case Review: Protect Your Precious with the Best iPhone 5 Battery case

iPhone 5 is one of the most popular smartphones in today's market, but its popularity isn't because of a cost-effective price. iPhone 5 is one of the most expensive smartphones one could buy, but that hasn’t stopped millions from making such a pricy purchase. But with such a pricy investment, making sure no accidents will shorten its life expectancy is the best way to protect your financial resources on the long term.

The iPhone battery cases are designed to keep your device protected from scratches and if possibly even more damaging risks, as well as extend its battery life. iPhone users have been browsing for the best battery case ever and if they had a favorite for the previous smartphones, when it comes to iPhone 5, there’s some updating you need to do with your favorite battery case producer.

iPhone 5 Battery Case Overview

Choose from our top iPhone 5 Battery cases review, the one that matches the top-notch design of your device

The best iPhone 5 Battery case has to meet a lot more requirements than iPhone 4 battery cases. Since we’re talking about a pricier smartphone, you’d expect Apple to be even more careful with the exterior parts. But as it turned out, iPhone 5 is made of a much more durable material (aluminum), but that’s not scratch-proofed. However, the design is just as top-notch, so the iPhone 5 Battery case you’ll choose should be just as hip as the original back panel on your precious device.

Previous iPhone battery cases are not compatible with iPhone 5

You might attempt to use some of the older versions of iPhone battery cases, but resist the temptation since there’s no good that could come out of that. The battery case for iPhone 5 has to be designed so it matches the Lightning connector on your device. Apple has changed that for its newest iPhone, switching to an 8-pin adapter connector that requires a special kind of chip, that only Apple has the patent for. So, it’s a good idea you choose an iPhone 5 Battery case designed by a company that has Apple’s official OK.

Buy an iPhone 5 Battery case that extends your device’s battery life

Most iPhone users spend hours and hours with their device, checking out Facebook and Twitter, reading blogs and shopping online. And then there’s the chatting, the video calls, 4G LTE connectivity, Instagram and tons of other apps and games that impact the iPhone 5’s battery life differently. So getting more juice out of your iPhone 5 is an essential requirement. A battery case can extend your iPhone 5 battery life to almost double or triple of what you’d normally get on a single charge.

For now at least, the best iPhone 5 Battery case is the one launched by Shenzhen Esorun Technology Limited Company. The Esorun iPhone 5 battery life has been given Apple’s official authorization called MFI certificate, so it matches the new Lightning dock. It’s a fashionable battery case with a built-in 3000mAh Li-polymer battery you can charge using a Micro USB port with 5 pins.

Belkin Releases a New iPhone 5 Battery Case, the Grip Power

If your new iPhone 5 still doesn’t have its own battery case, you might want to start considering investing in such a power product. Over the past few months, accessory products for iPhone 5 have become all the rage, giving iPhone 5 owners the extra battery power needed to help them extend their app and web browsing usage to double or even triple of what the standard 1440 mAh is capable.

The design of today’s battery cases for iPhone 5 is quite varied and increasingly functional, as users want aesthetics similar to Apple, durability, increased protection and extra battery life. The latest to join the current day offer is the Grip Power battery case, developed by Belkin for iPhone 5. It comes with a shock-resistant outer shell, anti-glare camera ring and a powerful 2000 mAh battery.

“Smartphone users are becoming increasingly dependent on their devices, and Belkin’s new Grip Power Battery Case for iPhone 5 provides the perfect solution for people who are constantly using their iPhone for apps, videos and browsing the web” reads a press release by Christopher Bodmer, Belkin product manager.

For the moment there isn’t all that much information available for Belkin’s new iPhone 5 battery case. The product sells for $99.99, which makes it $30 cheaper than the main rival, the Mophie 2100 mAh case. There are four color themes available for the product: civic blue/stone, purple lightning/fountain blue, blacktop/gravel and whiteout/blacktop.

Belkin hasn’t released the product dimensions but from the looks of it, it’s not bulkier than similarly-priced products. Your iPhone 5 will be slid into the battery pack and into the in-built Lightning connector, whereas the second part of the case, the outer shock-resistant bumper keeps everything in place securely. To charge the case, you will have to use a micro-USB charging cable.

We’ll publish the review for the Belkin Grip Power battery case for iPhone 5 as soon as it gets delivered.

The Future of Mobile Chargers Lays in Wireless Charging Solutions

The trouble with most power accessories is all the hassle with power cords and wires that whenever we need them most are nowhere to be found or tangled in a knot that gets on our nerves. Wireless charging for smartphones, tablets and whatever other USB-connected devices, aims to put an end to all that hassle. At the moment, there aren’t many products that can do that for your device, but given recent announcements and product releases it has become obvious that the future of mobile chargers lays in wireless charging solutions.

We have recently just reviewed a wireless charger from Duracell Powermat which intrigued us to search more about the subject. It turns out, in a few years we are all going to have a wireless charging mat around the house. AT&T has already made it clear that’s the future. “In an effort to move towards making this a reality for consumers worldwide and in direct support for the public ecosystem rollout led by Powermat, we have asked our device suppliers to provide integrated wireless charging solutions by 2014” reads a statement sent to CNET shortly after Duracell Powermat presented a prototype of a wireless charger mat for the company’s battery case as well as any other USB-capable device.

And by the way, even sooner than imagined, those wireless charging mats will be able to transfer data not just power-boost your device’s energy level. Duracell Powermat is already planning to release a second-generation mat that features a digital layer for data transfer. Things are obviously heading towards a bright future, and you will probably get to enjoy that kind of technology in Starbucks and McDonald’s sooner than expected.

Duracell Powert is part of the Power Matters Alliance, the standard in the wireless charging industry that has become widely popular among lots of popular companies, among which the Boston Starbucks coffee shops and the European McDonald’s restaurants. As Daniel Hays, PricewaterhouseCoopers analyst told CNET “wireless charging continues to be a niche category until there’s a common standard”. With that kind of names using the technology, it’s just a matter of time before wireless power mats will become just as common in our homes as today’s bothersome charging adapters and cables.

Your iPhone 5 Deserves to Wear the World’s Thinnest Case

When it comes to protective cases and jackets for iPhone and iPhone 5 in particular, most owners hate the boxy feel and the increased width their sleek device gets. A lot of cases today do make it look like iPhone has gained a few “inches” all around, but iSkin’s case promises to keep it as slim as possible. Your iPhone 5 deserves to wear the world’s thinnest case but doesn’t this mean less protection?

It might have been CES 2013 that was the highlight of the iPhone 5 accessory releases, but companies have been announcing better and better cases long before and after the event. Each maker tries to woo consumers with artistic design, tough protection and added functionality, as there’s so much appeal for iPhone 5 battery cases, but iSkin is aiming for what everybody wants: a slim iPhone 5 case.

iSkin says Linkase is the world’s thinnest case, with a width of only 0.4mm, 126.7 mm long by 9.97 mm thick by 61.4 m wide and 18g in weight. According to the company, the world’s thinnest case will deliver puncture and scratch resistant surface protection as well as design that will make you proud to show off your iPhone 5 and the new case.

“With every detail carefully measured and considered, Linkase wraps around your phone seamlessly while staying slim and elegant” writes iSkin’s description of its new case for iPhone 5, promising “better communication, with style”.

Made from pure polycarbonate ploymer iSkin Linkase for iPhone 5 features shock-absorbent rubber raised bevel on the front to protect the screen and on the sides to make it easier to install it. On the inside it features a multi-layered and non-slip leather coating that makes it look quite smooth.

The best feature of this iPhone 5 case isn’t that it is so slim. It is the EMW technology that catches the eye, particularly for a product that costs less than $50. EMW aka electro magnetic waveguide is a technology that improves Wi-Fi reception to a significant level. According to iSkin, the EMW technology in its iPhone 5 case will boost Wi-Fi signal by 50 percent.

PowerSkin PoP'n iPhone 5 Battery Pack - Pros and Cons

PowerSkin has released a new iPhone 5 battery pack named PoP’n which has immediately drawn all users’ attention. The battery case is available in US for $79.99 and it does a pretty good job at saving and recharging the smartphones battery.

PowerSkin PoP'n iPhone 5 Battery Pack
The design of the new battery pack from PowerSkin is the aspect that distinguishes it from the rest of the cases available on the market. The 24 suction cups provided on the back of the battery case have been installed to allow the PoP’n to stick to the back of the iPhone 5. The case of the battery pack comes in two colors, black or white, and it is made out of a shiny, glossy material. The 2000 mAh battery is enclosed in the case, whereas the Lightning connector is placed on the U-shaped connector at the bottom of the pack.

The U-shaped connector is very useful because it gives owners the possibility to use the battery pack to recharge many other iOS of Android based devices they may have at home. That is because the connector may be replaced with a 30-pin Dock Connector or a micro-USB A or B connectors.

The PoP’n case is very easy to install on the back of the iPhone and after a few seconds your mobile device should let you know that it is being charged. Once your phone has been completely charged, you can easily remove the PoP’n pack in spite of the suction cups that prevent the case from getting detached from the phone. Unlike other battery cases, PowerSkin’s PoP’n pack needs not be constantly placed on the phone; you can simply use it when your device runs out of battery, let it charge the phone for several hours and then, get back to the original iPhone 5 design.

In the end, there are both advantages and disadvantages for those who plan on buying the new battery pack from PowerSkin. The benefits would be that you can use it to recharge other iOS and Android based devices, not just the new iPhone 5. Moreover, the unique suction cups give users the possibility to attach the battery pack both on the phone and the battery case.

The products have been purposefully created for Apple devices, so they are certified by the Cupertino company. The downsides, however, are the fact that the battery pack will not stick to devices made out of leather or soft fabrics and the fact that the glossy case tends to get dirty.

iPhone 5 Battery Case Review: Meridian iPhone 5 Rechargeable Extended Battery Case

The iPhone 5 battery life is without a doubt worse than the iPhone 4’s. Something is definitely draining the battery faster than ever before and whether it’s the network connectivity, the apps or even iOS6, one thing is for sure: you need an iPhone 5 Battery case more than ever before.

To begin with, the iPhone 5 Battery case you’re most likely going to buy, should be compatible with the new Lightning connector on your device. But it should also be light and small enough to fit in your shirt’s pockets without ripping the stitching, otherwise you’re going to find yourself holding a several hundred dollars smartphone that looks like one of the bricks that we used to drag around 20 years ago. The iPhone 5 Battery case you’re planning to buy should also feature extensive battery life and give your smartphone some protection from scratches and scrapes.

You are probably trying to figure out which iPhone 5 battery case you should buy. Well, preorder, since most iPhone 5 battery cases won’t start selling before December 24th. By the way, the reason why it takes so long for iPhone 5 battery case producers to release these accessories is because of a chip shortage at Apple’s Foxconn.

Lenmar and Shenzhen Esorun Technology Limited Company have each produced an iPhone 5 Battery case. Both priced under $100, these iPhone 5 battery cases are available in preorder, because of Apple’s chip shortage. Each producer promises their battery case will not only protect the back panel of your iPhone 5 from scratches and scrapes but will also double and even triple the battery life on a single charge.

Lenmar’s iPhone 5 Battery case sells for $99.99 on Amazon (in preorder) and according to its tech specs it should double the battery life of your smartphone. The black rubberized case packs a 2200mAh Li-polymer battery that seems to gives access to all your ports and buttons while protecting the aluminum back panel of your iPhone 5. The producer promises the 2200 mAh battery will “double your talk, text and surf time”.

There are three colors to choose from Rubberized Black, Metallic Red, Glossy White. To be fair, from the looks of it, the Glossy White battery case looks most in line with iPhone 5’s design. It also features a LED power indicator for batter power level, as well as an on-off option.

If you’re preordering the Lenmar Meridian iPhone 5 Rechargeable Extended Battery Case take into account there’s nothing in the product description about an Apple MFI certificate. Shenzhen Esorun however is officially certificated by Apple to sell the iPhone 5 battery case accessory.

So as annoying as it is, preordering your iPhone 5 Battery case isn’t as hassle-free as it should be, because there aren’t that many actual reviews and comparisons available apart from the information producers have released. But you’re most likely going to take the risk and order a new iPhone 5 battery case even if there aren’t comprehensive reviews (bug reports, actual handling etc) to help make up your mind, so at least be certain what you’re buying is the best available.

The iPhone 5 Battery case That Promises to Triple Battery Life

For the millions that invested several hundred dollars in an iPhone 5, having battery issues is extremely frustrating. This isn’t the kind of problem you’d expect from Apple or from such a pricy gadget. For those looking to extend their smartphone’s battery life, an iPhone 5 Battery case is a solution that promises to double or triple the hours you are currently getting on a single charge.

You can try and get more juice out of your iPhone 5 by going through every little setting in your iPhone 5’s menu, or invest in an iPhone 5 Battery case, which in all fairness isn’t such an expensive investment after all. In most cases, producers of iPhone 5 battery cases promise their product will double or even triple your battery life. These battery cases for iPhone 5 allegedly do that for less than $100.

If you’re looking for the best iPhone 5 Battery case you’re going to have to browse through dozens of products and look for those that are MFI certificated. It’s going to be hard to identify the best battery case for your iPhone, since most of the iPhone 5 battery cases haven’t been released yet, because of a chip supply delay caused by Apple itself.

Looking at what the market has to offer, the best iPhone 5 Battery case seems to be that produced by Shenzhen Esorun Technology Limited Company. It was supposed to come out in November, but the release was postponed and only a few “samples” were made available. The Esorun iPhone 5 Battery case is compatible with the new Lightning dock on the smartphone, having been officially authorized by Apple to sell it via a MFI certificate.

The battery case for iPhone 5 produced by Esorun is designed to protect the back panel of your smartphone from scratches and scrapes while extending your battery life considerably. The case features a built-in 3000mAh Li-polymer battery that promises to triple the battery life of your iPhone 5.

The producer says the Esorun iPhone 5 battery case is a great accessory for your smartphone not only because it can triple its power, but also because of its top-notch quality and support that easily turns your device in a movie player. The battery case can be recharged via a Micro USB 5-pin connector.

This iPhone 5 Battery case looks very promising, at least from the advertorial. We will have a review and performance tests made available as soon as we’ll get our hands on an Esorun iPhone 5 battery case.

Despite the expensive price tag, Apple’s iPhone 5 has been giving users a lot more headaches than imagined with such a pricy investment. Leaving alone the Apple Maps fiasco, a huge number of users have been complaining about battery life issues with iPhone 5. Most unbelievers say it’s the users’ fault for not knowing how to manually select and unselect all kinds of options in the iPhone 5’s internet connectivity, notifications and antenna menus. A battery case however ensures you're not running out of power when you need it most.
